sigma's ethos is that evaluation should be "a means to an end - not an end in itself" and that ongoing monitoring and reflection is essential for the good management of the CETL.
The student learning experience is at the heart of all sigma activities and monitoring the effect of our activites on this is an ongoing process. The evaluation framework we are using centres around asking the following specific questions of an activity to be evaluated:
What do we want to evaluate?
Why do we want to evaluate this?
How are we going to evaluate this?
Who is going to do the evaluation?
When is the evaluation going to be carried out?
How is the evaluation going to be reported?
The activities to be evaluated are then decided upom and drawn up in the annual Evaluation Action Plan, with key information for each included.
