One of the key responsibilities of sigma is effective dissemination of best practice and information on mathematics and statistics support across the HE sector, particularly (but not exclusively) in conjunction with the Higher Education Academy (HEA).
Collaboration with the HEA and with its MSOR Subject Centre is taking many forms. One particular success story is the annual joint CETL-MSOR conference, first held in September 2006.
We also provide secondment opportunities and these have enabled us to make links with other education institutions in the UK and across the world.
Visits to sigma from institutions interested in developing similar facilities, activities and services are actively welcomed. We have had visits from FE and HE institutions in the UK, Ireland, Europe, Malaysia and Australia.
